Running Out MEA60 Biochip Products


The MEA60 biochips are adapted to the commercially available MEA60 signal amplification and data acquisition system from Multi Channel Systems MCS (Reutlingen, Germany). MEA60 Biochips are fabricated on glass chips and include 60 recording/stimulation sites made of platinum, or gold electrodes.

The MEA60 biochips described below correspond to older MEA types that have now been discontinued.

MEA60 Biochips with substrate integrated reference - 8x8 matrix
The electrode arrangement is an 8x8 matrix without the corner electrodes of metallic electrodes with an interspacing of 200µm (centre to centre), building a small workspace in the center of the biochip. One of the 60 recording electrodes has been replaced by a large electrode (N°28) that can be used as substrate integrated reference electrode.
Characteristics are: Substrate material: glass substrate (15mmx15mmx0.7mm); Insulation material: 5µm thick SU-8 epoxy; Electrode spacing: 200µm (centre to centre); Required accessory: MEA60-Spa-1 or MEA60-Spa-2.

MEA60 Biochips based on larger glass substrates
These MEA biochips also include 4 large GND electrodes and 4 pairs of supplementary stimulation electrodes. The stimulation electrode dimensions are 50µm x 250µm. The electrodes allow stimulation of and recording from cells or tissue placed on top of it.
Characteristics are: Substrate material: Glass plate (21mmx21mmx0.7mm); Insulation material: 5µm thick SU-8 epoxy; Required accessories: MEA60-Spa-2 and MEA1060-A1 or MEA1060-A2.
